Saveetha University, commonly known as Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), was established in 2005. It is one of the best-deemed universities in terms of teaching and research. Saveetha University is located in Saveetha Nagar, Thandalam, Kanchipuram, Chennai. As per NIRF Ranking 2025, Saveetha University has been placed at the 13th position under the University category, 2nd in the Dental category, and 19th position under the Law category. The university is recognised by UGC and has been accredited by NAAC with an “A++” grade.

The university campus is spread over 180+ acres of land with a 70 lakh sq. ft. built area, and comprises 13 institutions, 5000 staff, and 10,000 students.

Saveetha University was placed in the 401–500 rank band in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. The rankings are based on 13 different factors that measure how well universities teach, conduct research, share knowledge, and maintain an international outlook. To ensure the accuracy of the rankings, researchers studied more than 121 million citations from over 15.5 million research papers and gathered feedback from 40,000 scholars worldwide. They collected vast amounts of information, with over 680,000 data points from more than 2,500 participating universities.

Saveetha University offers courses at the diploma, UG, PG, and doctoral levels. These courses span across law, engineering, science, technology, medicine, dental sciences, architecture, management, physiotherapy, and more. All courses are offered in regular, offline mode. Admissions are done both on the basis of merit and performance in entrance exams. NEET scores are accepted for admission to medical courses, whereas for architecture, law, and MBA courses, NATA, CLAT/SLAT, CAT, MAT, and CMAT are the accepted entrance exams, respectively.
